Dear Reader,
All good things come to an end…But not if a legacy is left behind! After nearly six years of operation, the URBAN GreenUP project is reaching its conclusion, and we are delighted to present our accomplishments to you. 

With the end of the pandemic period, we had the opportunity to come together as a consortium in our three frontrunner cities. We started in Liverpool in September 2022, followed by Valladolid in March 2023, and finally Izmir in May 2023. During these visits, we had the chance to visit the implemented Nature-Based Solutions, reflected on the lessons we learned, and shared our results. Additionally, we strategized on how to pass on this valuable legacy to inspire others in renaturing their cities and harmonizing with nature.

To commemorate our project's success, we organized the URBAN GreenUP International Conference, a one-day celebratory event held in Valladolid on March 29th. This conference marked the culmination of six years of collaboration, support, and progress in developing, implementing, and replicating Renaturing Urban Plans in cities to combat climate change through Nature Based Solutions. The event served as a platform to exchange knowledge, with esteemed speakers and experts in various NBS projects participating both as speakers and attendees.

We express our gratitude to all of you who have been with us on this remarkable journey over the years. As we near the conclusion of the project, we reflect on the significant accomplishments and outcomes we have achieved. We owe a special acknowledgment to our invaluable community, consisting of diverse and engaged individuals like you. It is also through your support and contributions that we have been able to accomplish so much.
