The Institute is focused on the future with plans to establish itself internationally as a technologically advanced, modern university. While IZTECH was ranked as the 4th best university among Turkish State Universities, it was on the 6th place according to the innovation index.
The Campus is located in the third largest city, Izmir, in Turkey and lies on the coast of the Aegean Sea. IZTECH is offering 10 undergraduate, 25 master’s and 14 doctorate programs with enrolment of 3,500 students and 850 faculty and staff.
IZTECH also hosts the "Izmir Technology Development Zone” (Teknopark Izmir) of Izmir-Aegean metropolitan area (commonly referred to as Technology Park or Science Park) and The IZTECH Technology Transfer Office. Over the past 10 years, IZTECH has successfully participated in 15 EU research projects.
In URBAN GreenUP’s project, the research is carried out by the researchers from IZTECH’s faculty of architecture and faculty of engineering with an interdisciplinary manner.
ZTECH has the expertise and knowledge on natural and cultural assets, resilience, energy systems, smart cities and urban resiliency issues. In URBAN GreenUP IZTECH is chiefly responsible with the supervision of GI actions, city diagnosis, baseline definition by zone and challenge and development of plan of implementation.
