BinhDinh People’s Committe is the executive arm of a provincial government, and is responsible for formulating and implementing policy in BinhDinh province, including policy on environmental protection and response to climate change.
Quy Nhon is a coastal city in the BinhDinh Province. It is composed of 16 wards and five communes with a total of 284 km².
The city has a long coastal line, a 5,000 hectares lagoon and locates in downstream areas of two rivers.
It therefore was seriously impacted by natural hazards, especially storm surges, flooding and beach erosion. The aim of Quy Nhon city is to involve local residents in recovering mangrove forests in the lagoon in order to reduce impacts of flooding, enhance awareness and livelihoods of local communities and improve mangrove ecosystems.
This mission is an important part of the Action plan for response to climate change in BinhDinh province and Quy Nhon city.
